WELCOME TO GIRONA WINTER CAMP

Hey Couchsurfers! We are very happy to announce that the Winter Camp 2013 will take place in our lovely Girona region, a picturesque city beyond the Pyrenees, with beautiful mountains, sea, and gorgeous landscapes.

OFFICIAL DATES FOR THE GWC: 28th of DECEMBER to 1 of JANUARY

For those who can be with us a bit longer, on the 6th of January, we have the Epiphany holiday, when we celebrate the Three Kings (Reyes Magos).
There will be also activities for those who will be here until the 6th.

We are sure that it will be a unique experience for all of us! It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to gather and celebrate New Year’s Eve over here, meeting a diverse group of amazing people from all over Europe and other parts of the world. We’ve been preparing a range of funny outdoor and indoor activities, that will suit all kinds of tastes, from board games competitions to sporting events (the first Girona Winter Camp Games :D), let’s see what team will win! Hopefully it will be as fun for you all to participate as it has been for us to prepare! We will also have some ceramic,  soap and meditation/yoga workshops.  Added to the awesome activities in and around the grand mansion (which has limited places), we will also provide some tours around this beautiful area and Barcelona (transport not included). Ah! And of course, we will have some night activities, with live music with some of our great local musicians, dj’s and some typical Catalan and Spanish traditions to welcome the New Year!
To be a part of it, you have three options: Staying in the mansion, find a host: couchsurfing, be welcome,...(which is not too popular around here) or staying in a hotel/hostel. 

PRICES:

Sleeping in the mansion +all activities = 75€ 
Only participating in the activities = 40€ (PS: Hotels/Hostels prices in Girona: between 19-21€ a night for groups). 

Only NY party and sleep in the mansion = 25€

PAYMENT PROCESS:

To keep track of the Girona Winter Camp signup process, we'd appreciate if you follow the following procedure:

1st. Transfer the amount to the Girona Winter Camp bank account*.Please, indicate your full name as it appears on your bank account, together with your CS/BW/Facebook nickname.

We are looking for a new MAIN HOUSE where we can sleep together, do the workshops and enjoy the night parties. It will be similar than the other one but smaller (approximately 100 people, half booked for now). It will be on a first come-first served basis, after that you'll have to find a place by yourself (CS, BW, hostels or hotels in the city or around it).

Activities: What we will do?

ACTIVITIES


We will enjoy many activities during the day and also at night, the Girona Winter Camp will be a fusion about the couchsurfing camps, spanish traditions, meeting friends and a lot of fun...just come and enjoy.

This will be a program. The exactly timetable and events will be ready some time before the event but for  you can have a idea about what we will do, also we will continue o explain with many details all the workshops and also all the activities that we will do and the places where we will go.

28/12/2013 - Welcome to Girona!!!
Reception in the airport, Girona or the Main House and First Evening Party!

29/12/2013 - Walking in the Main House surroundings to enjoy the mountains and the free style life, this is a camp and we will enjoy the beautiful landscapes. 


During the afternoon, in the 10th Winter Camp, will start the first Winter Camp Games, will many different activities outside and inside the house.  

Will be also during the morning and evening the first workshops.

Second Evening Party in the Main House!!



30/12/2013 - Daytime events in Girona city, you will discover the city and can enjoy it, lunch in the parcs weather permiting.

Board Games competition and workshop during the afternoon.

Thirth Evening Party in the Main House!!!

31/12/2013 - Quiet morning with some walks and daytime events in the town close the main house. We recoment a tipical spanish "siesta" to recover yourself for the night.

Awards ceremony during the afternoon!!! 

In the evening we will start the NY party, dinner and join our traditions, catalan and spanish ones, we will discover you wich ones and you can learn about the typical songs and come ready!  Take a small present that we will share during the "caga tió" and come with your best smile and good mod to welcome the NY.




The NY party in Spain is always long, long means that usually nobody sleep during these night :).

AFTER OFFICIAL DAYS

The next days we will do some activities too for the people that decide longer the time that want be here, also will be options to do other activities outside this events. The Christimas here is longer because the three kings arrive at 5th of January (during the night), likes Santa Claus if you have been a good boy/girl they will give you some presents after write them a letter that you will give them on the parade.



OTHER ACTIVITIES
The Dali Museum and Figueres, the beaches (Cadaqués, Palamós, Pals, Begur...), Barcelona, Pirynees, join a Christmas piece of teather called "Els Pastorets", or see how the castellers make castles in the catalan way...this will be other options that you can enjoy if you want, we will write the options when we know how many people are interested. If you not want to join a activitie you can change it to one of this options.
